Congresswoman Janice Hahn endorses Jeannine Pearce for Long Beach City Council

Hahn is the latest Elected Official to Endorse Pearce
LONG BEACH, CA – Jeannine Pearce announced today that she has received the endorsement of Congresswoman Janice Hahn in her campaign to represent the 2nd District on the Long Beach City Council
Congresswoman Hahn represents California's 44th Congressional District, which stretches from South Gate and Watts, down to San Pedro and includes portions of Long Beach. Previously she represented California's old 36th Congressional District, and before then, she served on the Los Angeles City Council and represented the 15th Council District for over a decade.
“I support Jeannine Pearce for Long Beach City Council because of her focus on delivering a higher quality of life to residents by delivering safer, cleaner neighborhoods and a cleaner, greener Port of Long Beach,” said Hahn. “Jeannine’s community driven approach and commitment to bringing residents, non-profits and community organizations together to ensure the port implements the promise of their Green Port Plan and bring zero emission vehicles to port operations, is the type of leadership that will lead to real environmental change for families throughout Long Beach. Hahn joins Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal, Long Beach Councilmembers Roberto Uranga and Rex Richardson, Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and the California Democratic Party in endorsing Pearce.
Pearce is running to for a the open 2nd Councilmanic District seat on the Long Beach City Council. The election will be held in April of 2016.
Jeannine Pearce is a longtime 2nd District resident and is running for the Long Beach City Council to ensure that all residents are well represented in local government. Her priorities include supporting a thriving and growing local economy, building a clean and safe environment for residents to flourish and a commitment to collaboration with all stakeholders.
Jeannine's personal story is characterized by struggle and perseverance. Adopted at a young age, Jeannine grew up very poor. She moved out of her home at the age of 16 and has worked since then. She made the move from her home state of Texas to California with her husband in 2005. After a decade of working multiple jobs while going to college, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Long Beach State University with a degree in sociology in 2009. She currently lives near Retro Row with her husband, Ryan, and daughter, Jubilee.
